Chronic inflammation is at the root of a lot of modern illnesses including probably ones classified as auto immune. A genius friend of mine with IBD said it should be called 'auto-inflammation' instead of 'auto-immune'.
There are a lot of good recommendations for changing diet to reduce inflammation that are out of my scope of practice but can be researched in a lovely tome called Healing with Whole Foods. As a layperson who wants to be able to reduce inflammation, I take the insights in this type of work seriously. I have seen wonderful results.
